Excellent but.....

This book provides an excellent review of the Holocaust. For those basically unfamiliar with the Holocaust, the overview is complete. For those with a stronger background, it is helpful to get an "overview" that puts the details of specific events and issues in perspective. My one "problem" with the book is the writing style. Given the large amounts of information conveyed in even a single sentence, the use of subordinate clauses, and clauses subordinate to subordinate clauses, makes for slow reading ... and rereading. At times it seems the author almost loses track of the point he is making in a single sentence....and if he doesn't, the reader does! [To put these comments in perspective, I have a PhD in the social sciences from an Ivy League university..... beware, the book is slow reading, but in the end, well worth it.]

Historys Nightmare

The book "Hitlers Shadow War" was a very well researched book. Prof. McKale does a great job illistrating the story of one of the worlds darkest moments. The book is informative on who was invlolved in the Holocaust and the roles played by each person. And, by doing this, McKale breaks down into a very understandable history the workings of the Third Reich and the main points of interest on how the Ideology of the NAZIs came about.
There were a few things that I could not bring myself to accept, which sadly happens with many of these scholarly books. Constantly under debate are certain topics such as: When did Hitler decide to eradicate the Jews. McKale brings this topic up and then quotes Mein Kampf where Hitler says that they should have gassed all the Jews in WWI, and if that would have been done Germany would have won WWI. It just doesnt make sense to me how the Scholars of today can read something like that and then seemingly discredit it and not accept it. I dont know, those kinds of "Scholarly research" just doesnt convince me all the time.
Enough of my rantings. The book is good except for a few very minor things that I personally didnt like. I would for sure recomend this book to someone wanting to learn more about the Holocaust.

I liked it a lot.

I think I benefited a lot from this book.
Of all the Crunchtime series, this one was the most helpful.

Just like any other Crunchtime series, this will not suffice as a sole supplement to teach you in-depth semester materials. What it will do is, it will supplement your outline very nicely. The thing with fact patterns in contracts is that, like torts, many issues are not easily spotted. There can be so many hidden issues that are easily overlooked, unlike subjects like, say, property. The things like, "just because your fact pattern says X, don't forget to mention the possibility of Y or Z happening." They might have been small points, but the way law school's hard curve works, I'm sure people can benefit from extra points here and there.

The flowchart sucked hardcore. The only section that was helpful was the exam tips section, and I think that section alone deserves the 5-star rating.

A MUST HAVE!

My only regret is not getting this book sooner. I am in my second semester, about halfway through, and a friend turned me on to these Emanuel outlines. I've used the 'Understanding" series and the "Glannon" and for me they felt like I was reading more of the case book; just my opinion. The Emanuel series is short and concise in an easy to understand format. If you're having problems buy it. The only other thing I would recommed is not to listen to instructions and instead read Emanuel and then your case material. If you've read my other reviews and realize this is exactly the same, your right I did copy and past.....but it is because I bought all if them after I tried the first one.

It really helped a lot. Made an A at a T15 law school and I base it on this book...no joke. Was lost the whole semester and this book helped me to make a good grade.

Great Fluoro Book

This book is a must have for any 1st year radiology resident who feels clueless about fluoro. Every attending has a different way of teaching their method for an exam. This book presents exams in an easy to follow and understand step-by-step manner. This book was indispensable during 1st year call and GI rotations. One of our attendings kept this book in the library for us. This is now an often purchased and used resident reference. Well worth the money. Very helpful book when learning fluoro and as a reference later for rarely ordered studies.

Great review!!

This is my handy book whenever I do a fluoroscopic procedure. It even gives you a sample dictation so just in case you are allowed to start dictating cases. It has help me in a lot of studies and my preceptors are impressed by it. I hope they make a pocket size so I can carry it around my pocket.

Very happy with this purchase

Awesome book for HR professionals to use in engaging their workforce. We are creating a menu driven incentive plan:
* I will make a list of about 30 to 50 of the incentives out of the book that are non-monetary
* Staff select 20
* I will send out a memo and/or include in the newsletter to all employees to have them vote on their top 5
* I will receive responses and create a Recognition Menu
* When a supervisor would like to recognize an employee for going above and beyond, the employee then gets to select off the Recognition Menu
* Not only will they get what they choose, they will be recognized in the newsletter letting the other employee's know what they received

This is also something we plan use when we develop an employee performance evaluation.

I'm not all the way through it yet, but it has many suggestions I have never considered before. There are also many tools to pass on to my supervisors to be used to enhance their leadership skills. Company culture is more important than ever and we want to be a employer of choice.

I am using this book as a tool for incentive ideas for the company where I work and manage our Corporate Health and Wellness program. I've truly enjoyed the book so far and all the unique ideas it has to offer! Great!

Not what I expected

This book does have a lot of examples but not very many low cost or creative ideas that I was hoping for. There are a lot of descriptions about companies and what they did. It was more reading than I wanted to go through to get to the ideas. Just not what I expected or wanted.
