Aqui, en estos apuntes intimos que desfilan por orden cronologico, esta toda la fuerza expresiva de Frida, que juega con las palabras y las moldea a su gusto para que puedan transmitir sus quejas de mujer atormentada por la enfermedad, pero tambien su amor por ese «nino grandote, inmenso, de cara amable y mirada un poco triste» que era Diego Rivera, y sus comentarios a proposito de «esas cucarachas viejas» que eran para ella Andre Breton y los surrealistas. Cartas a amigos y familiares, poemas, articulos y dedicatorias se reunen en este volumen hasta componer una autobiografia que Frida fue dibujando con el mismo talento e intensidad que tanto amamos en sus cuadros. Raquel Tibol, la compiladora, es quiza la mas sistematica defensora del muralismo mexicano; polemista, critica de arte, promotora e investigadora. Nacio en Argentina en 1923 y se naturalizo mexicana en 1961. Critica de arte, estudio en la Universidad de Buenos Aires. En 1953 vino a Mexico como secretaria de Diego Rivera y es hoy una de las expertas en arte que mejor conoce la vida y la obra de Frida Kahlo.
